First visit

Your first class,step by step.

New to the reformer, or new to us? Here is exactly what happens, and what doesn’t.

  1. 01

    Book a light class

Reformer Foundations, Mat, or Slow Reformer if you have done reformer before. Booking with First three gives you three classes in 14 days.

  2. 02

    Arrive ten minutes early

Come up the stairs, leave your shoes at the door and pop your things in a locker. Tell us about any injuries or pregnancy at the desk.

  3. 03

We set the machine with you

Your instructor shows you the springs, footbar, headrest and straps, and sets them for your height before class begins.

  4. 04

    Fifty slow minutes

Every exercise is demonstrated and cued. You will work hard, but nothing will be rushed, and you can always ask for lighter springs.

  5. 05

    Leave with a next step

We’ll suggest your next class and load. No pressure to join anything until your First three are done.

Questions

Before you book

I’ve never done reformer Pilates. Where do I start?

Book Reformer Foundations. It is built for first-timers: your instructor sets the machine with you and introduces every exercise. Most people take two to four Foundations classes before moving to Signature.

Is it OK if I’m not flexible or fit?

Yes. Light-load classes are designed around control, not fitness. Springs can be made lighter or heavier for every exercise, and your instructor will adjust them with you.

Can I come if I’m pregnant?

From the second trimester, join Pre & Postnatal Reformer with clearance from your GP, obstetrician or midwife. If you are already a regular, talk to us — some classes can continue with changes. A first private is a good idea.

I have an injury. Can I still do classes?

Often, yes. Tell us when you book and again before class. For recent surgery or ongoing pain, we suggest a first private ($120) so we can build the right modifications before you join a group.

What happens if I’m running late?

Doors close two minutes after the start so the room stays calm and everyone gets a proper warm-up. If you can’t make it, cancel 12 hours ahead to keep your credit.

Are classes mixed?

Yes, every class is open to everyone aged 16 and over. Groups are small — six on the reformer, ten on the mat.

How does the First three offer work?

Three group classes within 14 days of your first booking. Any class except Long Sunday. New clients only. One per person. Starts on your first attended class.
